This started as a simple pen drawing of a paint brush – the brush on the top left is the original. This sketch is one of many drawn quickly during a lock-down art group Zoom call. Given how quickly the sketch was done I was quite pleased with it, but even so it was rather pedestrian. So recently when I decided to have some fun with the drawing app on my iPad, this was the picture that I picked to play with. Rather quickly I discovered that by distorting the colours, I had the material for a Warhol-esque assembly of multicoloured images, which was a definite improvement on the original. The picture still lacked something however, until I hit upon the idea of bringing another copy of the brush into the third dimension.
No doubt there are other things I could also do to this picture, but I am slowly learning that in this game it pays to quit whilst you are ahead – in other words if you like what you have drawn then stop, as any additions will only spoil it!
