I’m not normally a fan of heights, but a friend had recommended seeing the view from the rooftop bar at Marina Bay Sands. The building is rather tall, and hence as promised the rooftop gives a very fine view. Somewhat surprisingly the bar is surrounded by quite mature trees, which I can only assume are growing in suitably large pots as their roots most certainly don’t reach all the way back down to the earth!
I was rather taken by the view through these trees – perhaps they gave me some feeling of protection from the great elevation of my viewing position! In this painting I have continued to work on reducing superfluous detail by the simple trick of using a much blunter pen than usual, and I have once again tried to get to grips with my watercolour paints. Seems to have worked – more of less.
