Having discovered that I can use my drawing app to “enhance” existing drawings (see Reigate Priory or Brushes for example) I am now tempted to repeat this trick on a great pile of scribbles and sketches that I have accumulated. However, I am just about wise enough to realise that unless my reworking of these pictures leads to genuine “enhancements” I am wasting my time.
So it is with some trepidation that I am posting this updated drawing, originally a charcoal sketch of a conical spiral seashell, now with the addition of the days of the week scribbled around the helix. I’m not sure that I have a satisfactory explanation as to why I added this continuous daily list to the original simple sketch, other than it was done on a whim. I suppose it could have had some deeper meaning, maybe as an echo of the seven days in the biblical creation story as the shell (and presumably its living owner) grew, or maybe as a cry for help as my own days and weeks seem to spiral out of control! Or perhaps there is indeed a better or more compelling story that someone can see in this image – if so please let me know!
