Cart (dilapidated)

This cart is to be found in the delightfully named Ichi-Coo Park on the Surrey/Sussex border. Our trip to that park today was made in typical English summer weather (i.e. it was raining) so our “en plein air” art session risked turning into “plein d’eau”! However, I noticed that a few dilapidated carts had been left beneath some rather large trees, which I reasoned might give some protection from the rain. By and large I was correct – my drawing pad was only hit by a few drops of water during the time it took to make this sketch.

Due to the circumstances this sketch was a little rushed, but given my constant effort to concentrate on the essentials and omit too much detail, then a rush was perhaps no bad thing.

Last year’s visit to Ichi-Coo Park was (slightly) drier, so perhaps I’ll post one or two more open air sketches from that session too.
