I have already commented on the bad weather we had during our recent visit to Ichi-Coo Park. Early that afternoon we experienced a really heavy downpour, so I took refuge in a summerhouse which was the driest place I could find, and started drawing on the only “waterproof” pad that I had – my iPad! I didn’t actually finish this drawing that afternoon, partly because I took advantage of a brief pause in the rain to get back to my car, and partly because as usual there is way too much detail here! This picture was eventually completed in the warm and the dry with the aid of an aide-memoir photo that I took at the time.
The story of this image notwithstanding, I think that (just like the summerhouse itself) this picture contains a pleasing jumble of stuff and a nice mix of colours. I have absolutely no idea what the central thing on the table is, but it was nevertheless very interesting to draw!
