I know we now have trams in England again, but to me the sight of a tram on the streets of a continental European city still feels rather satisfyingly foreign. I was pleased therefore to discover there are many trams in Budapest. This particular unit is running along the “Pest” bank of the Danube, where the lighting at dusk seemed especially picturesque.
The shape of the drawing was created using a new ink pen, thoughtfully supplied a few days ago by Santa! Having drawn the scene I decided that the colour would be easiest to apply with water soluble crayons, although I was concerned that the resulting picture might be rather pale. However I needn’t have worried – it turns out that if one is heavy handed enough with the crayons then with the application of a wash the colour does come through.
