I recently attended a lunch at Hylands House near Chelmsford in Essex. Apart from the enjoying the event itself, I was rather curious to see the interior of a house that I first new as a near ruin when I was a child, but which is now returned to something close to what I presume was its former glory. The interior of the house is indeed now very smart in a rather classical style, and during my brief visit the ambience was completed by a couple of musicians playing some classic classical music.
I didn’t get a well framed photo of these two playing – they were paused and deep in discussion (about what to play next perhaps?) when I caught this view out of the window on my phone camera. So if they are not shown playing their instruments correctly that is entirely my fault!
As usual there are many things in this painting that I’m not happy with, but in fact the overall effect is okay – although the floor wasn’t quite as shiny as I have shown it!
