Roll on Nightfall

The circus came to town recently. It was mid-morning when I spotted the big top and all the associated out-buildings (out-tents perhaps?), a time when all the lights strung around the park were struggling to make themselves seen against the daylight. So I had the idea of painting a “time lapse” scene, where the daytime shifts to darkness and the festooned lights come into their own …

I have to say that the resulting picture looks rather more as if a giant storm is looming, but if you humour me and look for the transition from day to night then I think the depiction works – well sort of!
