We recently went to a wedding celebration in this handsome building on Wandsworth Common. As with many weddings that I have attended over the years, a very good time was had by all. However, I am always aware that any wedding day is only really the beginning of a (hopefully) life-long journey, building a life together that remains always a “work in progress”. At least that is my experience from my own marriage – I am very pleased to say that forty years after I attended my own wedding my wife and I are still side by side, working as always for a better tomorrow together.
So I have had a go at creating a picture of the venue that is in itself a work in progress, sketching out only the essence of each element of the scene – the colour of the sky, the shape of the building and the abundance of the screening foliage. I am happy enough with the result, which looks almost as I intended it to.
