Theatre Craft

During the recent hot weather we took our grandchildren to a craft activity at our local library. Partly this was for the distraction of the activity itself, but also I must admit partly because the library is air-conditioned! The craft consisted of colouring in, then cutting out, a toy theatre and some characters, which were then duly fixed to lolly sticks so the play actors could be manipulated without the puppeteers hand being fully visible. I would like to report that when we returned home these theatres were then enthusiastically played with, but unfortunately they were immediately forgotten in favour of more interesting toys that we had left lying around.

So I decided to repurpose these craft artefacts, adding some staging, a fairy tale castle backdrop and some rudimentary stage management to create this scene. Rather different from my normal pictures, but pleasantly distracting to put together!
